Colorado Special Districts
Colorado Special Districts hold elections for directors to serve on the Board in May of odd numbered years. The District’s next election will be May of 2025. Any vacancies that are created due to resignations in between elections are filled by appointment until the next election.
To be eligible to run for a Board seat, a person must be an “eligible elector” in the District, which is defined as a registered voter of Colorado and either:
- A resident of the District for not less than 30 days, or
- The owner ( or spouse of the owner) of taxable real or personal property situated in the District, or
- A person is obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase a taxable property.
